Yikes, well, there we go. As planned at the tail end of our one month anniversary posts on what people have been saying/doing since the conference, I’ve finally gone and announced ROFLCon’s summer events. It’s go time!
Strategically, I’m thinking about using these smaller scale talks/parties/events this summer as chances to experiment with some other ideas about conference/convention models we’ve been having internally from what we learned about a month ago. Between backchannels and other infrastructures/activities, I think there’s alot of room to play with what you might be able to do with an event about internet celebs/culture.
As I mention in the post, we’ve been taking the comments of Lindsay and others on the extent to which ROFLCon proper might be something you could actually repeat pretty seriously. Besides, I’m thinking that there’s no reason to do the same thing again but bigger. I guess we’ll just tread with cautious recklessness like usual and see what comes out.
